Ben Bernanke, former chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve, will serve as a senior adviser with hedge fund Citadel Investment Group, the company said in a statement on Thursday. Specifically, Bernanke will consult for Citadel on "developments in monetary policy, financial markets and the global economy." Bernanke said in an interview with The New York Times that he was "sensitive" to the public's impression that there is a "revolving door" between the Wall Street and regulators. He said he chose Citadel because "it is not regulated by the Federal Reserve and I won't be doing lobbying of any sort." Bernanke added that he was "looking for an opportunity to use my skills and knowledge," and said Chicago-based Citadel was "an interesting firm."
